چکیده

Introduction Nutritional content in citrus fruit is enormous. Citrus grandis (L.) Osbeck underutilised crop that receives little attention due to the lack of knowledge regarding its nutritional value. waste disposal poses a problem economic and environmental factors. Methods The metabolites flavonoids, phenols antioxidant capacity dropped fruits species pomelo ( Osbeck) were examined. Results discussion Hesperidin varied from 1.22 2.83% 1.08 1.16% 10 mm 14 whereas naringin dominates measuring 12mm with 60.61%, 60.77%, 47.76%, 45.87% freeze dried (FD) hot air oven (HAOD) samples. According results assays, highest concentrations ABTS azino-bis (3-ethylbenzthiazoline-6-sulfonic acid) DPPH (2, 2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl radical) found samples, ranging 9.679 10.416 mmol L -1 Trolox 14.825 16.432 Trolox, respectively. However, Ferric Reducing Antioxidant Power (FRAP) assay revealed higher samples both FD HAOD 10mm size (4.578 3.730 Trolox). Total phenol was measured, diameter between 18 mm. It ranged 48.479 54.498 mg GAE 45.757 51.159 smallest fruits, or those still immature stage, had content. when by HAOD, decreased. At p<0.01 p<0.05, there significant positive correlation antioxidants, total phenols. showed lesser known sp. can act as potential source concentration, potential. Freeze drying be recommended recover most bioactive substances physiologically for use pharmaceutical nutraceutical sectors. This study will help reducing impact caused responsible management.
